Jason Hughes is the CEO and Chairman of Hughes Marino, one of the most successful construction management firms in San Diego. He has been with the buyer representation company since its inception in 2001. Jason Hughes has helped it grow into one of the largest and most successful firms in Southern California. Hughes Marino has just completed construction of The Grand Del Mar luxury resort near San Diego. 


His development record is equally impressive, with numerous projects in his portfolio including Liberty Station, Seaport Village North, NTC Promenade Green and the New Children’s Museum. Before founding Hughes Marino, Jason Hughes spent 13 years with Maefield Development, a national developer based in San Diego. He started off as an intern and worked his way up to General Manager of the company’s shopping center division. 


After leaving Maefield, Jason Hughes and Shay founded Hughes Marino with partner Frank Marino. Today he is Chairman and CEO of the organization—which has grown to be one of San Diego’s most well-respected development and construction management companies (Crunchbase).

In addition to his work at Hughes Marino, Jason is also a highly accomplished entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is chairman of the board for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) San Diego benefit committee, an organization he co-founded. He was also named chairman of the board for Autism Speaks San Diego in 2012. Jason Hughes has said that the charity holds its annual fundraiser at his Liberty Station Project, raising tens of thousands of dollars each year. In addition to being a successful developer, Jason is also an accomplished race car driver—a passion that both he and his wife share.
