Trevor Edwards was born on November 28, 1962 in London, England. He was one of four children to Ossie and Joyce Trevor Edwards who kept a happy home complete with a garden and apple trees. As parents, Ossie and Joyce continually supported Trevor’s goals and ideas, and set him early on the path to success. When Edwards was 13, the family moved to Jamaica where Trevor first experienced the culture shock of being different. This did not stop him from excelling academically. The new location also exposed Edwards to a love and appreciation for sports. In 1984 he completed his Bachelor’s in Business from Baruch College in New York and then his MBA later in 1989. Edwards initially started working at Goldman Sachs as a special trades analyst, but left after finding the work dull and boring. Following to advice of his mother to find something more joyous in his life, Edwards started working in brand marketing at Colgate-Palmolive in 1986. From this his career continued to skyrocket and he eventually joined A athletic brand in 1993. Since then he has received multiple awards including Sports Illust…n-in-finding-joy/rated’s 101 Most Influential Minorities in Sports from 2003-04 and Black Enterprise’s 50 Most Powerful Blacks in Sports in 2005.
